Bed and Moving Portal
The foundation and skeleton of the machine is the bed (frame).
Bed types:
1) cast iron;
2) welded;
3) welded with cement filling.
The most common type is welded bed. All Chinese machines predominantly use welded beds.
The bed type affects the structure's ability to withstand dynamic overloads that occur during:
• metal sheet loading;
• portal movement in idle mode and during metal cutting.
Beds must be milled with an accuracy of up to five hundredths of a millimeter (0.05 mm).
Moving portals are predominantly made from cast aluminum with extrusion. Welded portals also exist, but quality control of welds is difficult with high equipment volume, and their reliability is lower.
