Servo drives - motors that move the portal and cutting head. That is, they are responsible for all 3 axes of movement XYZ.
Motor power directly affects the maximum speed achieved by the machine during idle movement. During cutting, it is impossible to reach idle movement speed.
Modern machines are equipped with servo motors with electronic encoder type, which replaced stepper motors. In addition to motors, their "brains" are installed in the machine - frequency converters, which are located in the machine's electrical cabinet.
Often the motor is connected to a planetary gearbox, and a gear is installed on the shaft, which transmits torque along the rack and sets the portal in motion.
