What do laser cutting machine error codes mean?

Both point to a specific subsystem, not the laser source itself, and most have a simple first check before calling service.

Common codes and their first check

Chiller E01 — water temperature sensor fault Wire break/short circuit, or the sensor itself has failed. Check sensor wires; replace the sensor if necessary.
Chiller E02 — high coolant temperature Low water flow, poor ventilation or a dirty radiator. Check the pipeline for blockage, ensure ventilation around the chiller, clean the radiator of dust.
Chiller E03 — compressor pressure error Refrigerant leak, faulty fan, dusty filter or faulty relay. Check for a refrigerant leak, verify the fan and filters, check the pressure relay.
Servo drive AH — amplifier overheat Insufficient cooling or the drive running near its thermal limit. Check drive ventilation and ambient temperature in the cabinet; reduce duty cycle if it recurs.
Servo drive dE — memory error Drive parameter memory corrupted, often after a power interruption during a write. This one usually needs a technician to reload parameters — do not attempt to clear it blind.

Before calling service

  1. Note the exact code and which subsystem display shows it — chiller panel or drive display, not the main controller screen.
  2. Check the obvious physical cause first: water level, ventilation, a loose connector — most chiller codes trace back to one of these.
  3. Power-cycle only after checking the physical cause, not before — cycling a chiller with a real refrigerant leak just delays the diagnosis.
  4. If the code returns immediately after reset, it is a real fault, not a transient one — stop production and address the cause.
